Chemson are a global manufacturer of polymer additives with headquarters in Austria, Europe. As one of the world’s recognized market leaders for technical PVC additives, Chemson has leveraged specialized expertise to develop the world’s first thermoplastic PVC formulation, 3DVinyl™ (patent pending).

3DVinyl™ has been specifically engineered as a premium, high-performance material formulation to meet the high-performance demands of Additive Manufacturing/3D Printing, and associated Material Extrusion technologies within the burgeoning Advanced Manufacturing sector.

About Chemson’s 3D Vinyl™ technology

In 2015, after observing the limited selection of true industrial polymers then available to the Additive Manufacturing sector, Chemson Senior Management chose to explore the potential of developing PVC materials for AM/3DP systems to exploit PVC’s materials properties. PVC is unique among synthetic plastic polymers and presents far greater technical and formulation challenges than conventional 3D printing polymers, but Chemson engineers were up for the challenge, leveraging decades of specialized expertise to engineer solutions.

After two years of intensive R&D, and thousands of hours of laboratory testing, the first successful formulation was developed. Thus began the requisite outreach to relevant industry verticals and subject matter experts to develop a greater understanding of the potential applications for the technology and variants thereof.

Chemson’s PVC technology for Additive Manufacturing has been identified as having various aspects of novel invention; global patents are currently pending.
